The fins used on the boiler superheater tubes are a structural component that enhances heat transfer efficiency, mainly used to increase the heating area and thereby improve the heat transfer rate. Functional characteristics of boiler tube fins:
1. Increase heating area: The fins increase the surface area on the outside of the tube, allowing the smoke flowing between the fins to more effectively transfer heat to the medium inside the tube (usually steam). This design greatly enhances the heat transfer capacity per unit volume.

2. Improve heat transfer efficiency: A larger heating area is directly related to a higher heat transfer coefficient, which means that the heat transfer process is more rapid and effective, which is crucial for ensuring boiler efficiency and steam temperature control.

3. Diverse structural forms: The fins can be spiral shaped, continuously surrounding the steel pipe, fixed by high-frequency welding, which is firm and not easy to fall off; It can also be a separate circular sheet shape, although it is subjected to a single force, it may reduce the problem of dust accumulation and dead corners in some applications.

4. Membrane wall application: In water-cooled wall structures, if finned tubes are used, this is called "membrane wall". It not only increases the heating surface, but also provides better sealing performance, reduces boiler air leakage, and improves overall thermal efficiency.

6. Welding strength and stability: High quality finned tubes need to pass strict welding strength tests, such as pull-out force tests that must be greater than 200MPa, to ensure the stability and reliability of the welding part.

7. Specific design applications: For example, double H-shaped finned tubes, due to their unique design, can provide higher heating surfaces and heat transfer efficiency than ordinary finned tubes in power plant boilers, industrial boilers, and flue gas waste heat recovery systems.
