The implementation of fins adeptly addresses the challenge of scaling on the inner wall of boiler superheater tubes. Scaling diminishes the heat transfer area of the tube wall, thereby reducing efficiency. By incorporating fins, this issue is mitigated, leading to reduced boiler operating costs through decreased fuel consumption and enhanced boiler efficiency.


Functional characteristics of boiler tube fins:
1. Increase heating area: Fins expand the surface area on the tube's exterior, allowing the smoke traversing between them to more effectively convey heat to the medium inside (commonly steam). This innovative design significantly augments the heat transfer capacity per unit volume.

2. Improve heat transfer efficiency: A larger heating area correlates directly with a heightened heat transfer coefficient. This results in a more rapid and effective heat transfer process, which is vital for ensuring optimal boiler efficiency and precise steam temperature control.

3. Diverse structural forms: Fins can be spiral-shaped, encircling the steel pipe continuously, and are securely affixed by high-frequency welding, making them firm and resilient. Alternatively, they may take the form of separate circular sheets, which, while bearing single forces, can minimize dust accumulation and avoid dead corners in specific applications.

4. Membrane wall application: In water-cooled wall structures, the use of finned tubes is referred to as a 'membrane wall.' This configuration not only increases the heating surface but also enhances sealing performance, curbs boiler air leakage, and boosts overall thermal efficiency.

6. Welding strength and stability: Premium finned tubes must undergo rigorous welding strength assessments, including pull-out force tests exceeding 200MPa, to ensure the welding section's stability and reliability.

Specific design applications: For instance, double H-shaped finned tubes, with their distinctive design, offer superior heating surfaces and heat transfer efficiency compared to standard finned tubes in applications such as power plant boilers, industrial boilers, and flue gas waste heat recovery systems.
